Ukraine's August cattle output slides 1.1%
The cattle population of Ukraine fell by 1.1% or 59,000 heads in August, compared to July, to 5,168,500 head as of September 1, 2011, the State Statistics Service said.
Cattle population fell by 1.3% or 48,000 head at private farms, and by 0.3% or 11,000 head at specialised farms.
In August, cow population went down by 0.3% or 9,000 head, and as of September 1, 2011, made up 2,649,500 head.
The cattle population decreased by 3.2% or 170,300 head, compared to September 1, 2010.
In July, cattle population fell by 0.4% or 19,500 heads, compared to June, to 5,227,500 heads as of August 1, 2011.
In July, cow population went down by 0.2% or 4,800 heads, and as of August 1, 2011, made up 2,658,500 heads.
