Ukraine's pig population up

 

 

As of September 1, Ukraine's pig population increased by 0.2% or 14,500 head in August compared with July, to 8,102,300 head, the State Statistics Service has reported.

 

Pig population decreased by 0.2% or 10,100 head compared to July, to 45,826 head in private farms, and by 0.7% or 24,600 head to 3,519,700 head in specialized farms.

 

The pig population went down by 3.2% or 268,800 head against September 1, 2010.

 

Specifically, pig population fell by 3.4% or 125,200 head in specialized farms, and by 3% or 143,600 head in private farms.

 

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in July, the pig population increased by 0.4% or 33,300 head compared with June, to 8,088,000 head as of August 1.
