SKOV A/S has entered into an agreement with Charoen Pokphand Thailand Co. (CP) for the supply of 28 complete broiler house ventilation systems in China.
The 28 complete Combi-Tunnel ventilation systems will be installed from the start of December 2008 at a CP-owned farm.
The farm is located near Changchung in the Jilin Province in northeast China, and the area has temperature fluctuations ranging from –20 degree Celsius in the winter to +35 degree Celsius in the summer.
Combi-Tunnel ventilation is capable of handling such large temperature fluctuations while maintaining high productivity levels, compared to traditional tunnel ventilation systems that cool the chickens too much in cold periods, said Tommy H. Krogh, Asia poultry specialist of SKOV A/S.
Krogh said this is the company's first major order from China, and CP has decided to cooperate with SKOV because it was interested in the company's knowledge of climate and production solutions for cold regions, and consultancy services.
Charoen Pokphand Thailand Co. is one of the largest poultry producers in Asia with a weekly production of 6-7 million broilers. The company sells its production locally as well as internationally.
Established in Denmark, SKOV A/S develops, produces and markets systems and components for ventilation systems, livestock house air cleaning and production control.
