PPP to stop chicken processing at Lincoln facility
Nebraska-based Premium Protein Products (PPP) announced that it would stop further processing chicken products at its Lincoln plant.
Further processing of chicken products and some pork products would be stopped at the plant, so that the company could concentrate on the core business of raw beef processing, according to chairman Steve Sands.
The move will eliminate 20 jobs at the Lincoln facility, said Sands, adding that the company is trying to put all of their resources on source-verified beef production.
Previous, PPP processed cooked chicken and pork products such as chicken patties and chicken and pork skewers.
