Pork meat confiscated in Philippines

Manila authorities had confiscated about 200 kilogrammes of tainted (botcha) pork meat.

According to the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), they were tipped that the meat would be dropped off at the Paco Market. The meat was discovered in a sack at the market in Manila's Paco District early this morning.

Dr. Rolando Marquez of the NMIS has stated that more of such incidences are expected where there will be attempts of getting tainted meat to markets as Christmas season is just around the corner.

No arrests have been made thus far.
