French grain exports show increase
Grain cargoes exported from the French port of Rouen gained 12% in the seven days through Algeria's wheat purchase.
Cereal shipments totalled 179,995 tonnes, up from 160,578 tonnes the prior week. Exporters shipped 153,525 tonnes of soft wheat, including 128,550 tonnes to Algeria, according to a report. Algeria's purchases climbed 42% last week, port data showed. Durum wheat shipments totalled 15,470 tonnes.
Rouen accounted for 45% of France's wheat exports in 2009-10, ahead of La Pallice on the Bay of Biscay, which shipped out 19%, according to data from national crops office FranceAgriMer.
