Vietnam's wheat imports reach US$687 million
It is estimated that Vietnam has spent US$687 million on importing 1.655 million tonnes of wheat in January-October, the General Statistics Office reported.
The figures represented an on-year increase of 43.1% in value and 3.7% in volume, the agency said.
In October, the country is likely to import 200,000 tonnes worth US$65 million compared to 225,000 tonnes worth US$74 million in September.
The Southeast Asian country imported 2.248 million tonnes of wheat worth US$588 million worth in 2010.
