Abraai Capital to invest in Vietnamese, Malaysian agriculture
Abraaj Capital Ltd., the largest Middle East's private equity firm, intends to invest part of a US$2-billion fund in Southeast Asian natural resources, with a focus on agriculture-related investments in Vietnam and Malaysia.
The move is expected to meet rising regional demand for coal, metals and agricultural products, Aman Lakhaney, a principal at Abraaj Capital Asia Pte, said.
Dubai-based Abraaj Capital is managing total US$6.2 billion and has invested in 23 international companies worldwide.
