Ukraine's meat production increases by 11 percent

Ukraine had a 10.9 percent increase in total meat produced in September compared to the previous month.

According to the last data of official statistics reported by MeatRussia, production volume of meat including by-products of the first grade totalled to 78.7 thousand tonnes in Ukraine in September. Figures were up 10.9 percent compared to the previous month.

Beef production amounted to 13,500 tonnes, an increase of 23.4 percent in comparison to August 2008.

Pork production was 10,700 tonnes, up 8.5 percent. Poultry production amounted to 53,200 tonnes, up 8.4 percent.

Production of top-grade by-products reached the rate of 1,100 tonnes (18.6 percent). These figures were tabulated by the Ukrainian State Committee for Statistics to APK-Inform.
