Lallemand Animal Nutrition has announced the appointment of Tim Pollock as managing director of its UK business, Biotal Limited, which is a supplier of silage inoculants and probiotic yeast technologies.
Tim Pollock studied agriculture at the Royal Agriculture College and subsequently finance at London Business School. He has over 15 years director level experience within the agricultural, equestrian and rural sectors. His sector experience includes grain marketing; seed and fertiliser merchandising, agrochemical distribution; ruminant, monogastric and equestrian feed manufacturing and the distribution of farm inputs, silage additives, animal health products and feed supplements though a chain of country stores.
He spent seven years as Group Managing Director of Grainfarmers (previously SCATS), one of the UK's largest agricultural co-operatives and has a thorough understanding of the CAP, the global animal nutrition industry and the key drivers of profitability for the rural sector.
Tim Pollock will join Biotal in January, from an interim role in the agricultural commodities industry, and will report to Pascal Raoul, General Manager of the Animal Nutrition business.
Based in Cardiff, Biotal specialises in the development and marketing of microbial technologies-based products for the agricultural, industrial, garden and equine sectors. It was acquired by Lallemand in 2001.
