Lysine producers slash prices in China to entice buyers

Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending October 19.

Demand for lysine was poor as hog inventories have diminished due to the high releases in September. With corn prices significantly lower, lysine producers slashed prices in efforts to entice buyers to stock inventories.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine were in the range of RMB4.80-5/kg respectively.

RMB1=US$0.1575 (Oct 21)
