Zinpro's US facilities attain membership of AFIA's Safe Feed Program

Two Zinpro Corporation facilities in the US were recently recognised by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) as Safe Feed / Safe Food Certification Program Charter Members.

Zinpro Corporation's North Branch, Minnesota, and Garner, Iowa, facilities were among the 31 charter members, "who have continuously maintained one or more certification(s) through the programme since its creation," which began 10 years ago last month.

"Providing safe, high-quality products to our customers and animals in their care, has always been of vital importance to our company and its employees," said Jon Morrison, the global operations director of Zinpro Corporation. "This rigorous certification programme helps us to improve the wellness and performance of animals and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable world."

AFIA's Safe Feed / Safe Food Certification Program is open to livestock feed and pet food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, integrated producers, meat processors, feed purchasers, livestock producers, and renderers who want to validate a commitment to food safety through pro-active leadership.

According to AFIA, the certification "signifies that qualifying companies have embraced the feed industry's role in creating feed-based safety programmes; they are doing their part to reduce food safety risks; they are participating in an approved risk-management programme; and they are aggressively practicing risk reduction."
