Xinjiang's largest liquid milk plant comes on stream

By 2013, the company will have completed 100 modern dairy farms in the province with a combined inventory of 400,000 dairy cattle and an annual capacity of two million tonnes of raw milk, as well as six modern dairy processing plants designed to produce 240,000 tonnes of high-end infant formula powder and 700,000 tonnes of liquid milk each year.
The project is currently about 85% completed and the company is steadily building its cattle stocks through imports of around 3,000 Holstein dairy cattle every month.
