Spanish firm traces new path in avian disease prevention with anti-coccidiosis vaccine
The 19th Congress of the World Veterinary Poultry Association, held in Cape Town, South Africa, on September 7-11, brought together over 1,000 delegates from different countries.
This year, the veterinary pharmaceutical company Hipra participated for the first time as one of the main sponsors of this major scientific event in the poultry sector.
On the eve of the congress, September 6, the Spanish firm hosted a session on "Tracing a new path in avian coccidiosis immunology". The session attracted around 200 attendees of 30 different nationalities. The speakers included Dr. Hyun Lillehoj, a researcher at the US Department of Agriculture and specialist in avian immunology.
The event also served as a launch pad for a new concept in the prevention of the parasitic disease coccidiosis created by Hipra for poultry. The innovative vaccine EVALON® comes with its solvent HIPRAMUNE® T, which enhances the intake of vaccine. It also comes with a high-precision HIPRAspray® application device and a global traceability system HIPRAlink®, which ensures maximum control from the time of administration of the vaccine to the arrival of the breeders and/or layers on the farm.
Dr. Marc Pagès and Dr. Gregori Bech, both R&D researchers at HIPRA, gave presentations on the composition and characteristics of EVALON® + HIPRAMUNE® T and summarised the experimental and field trials carried out with the product.
Martina Dardi, Coccidiosis corporate group product manager, and David Mateos, marketing technologist, described the HIPRAspray® and HIPRAlink® concepts and their advantages in terms of administration and traceability.
The new concept in the prevention of avian coccidiosis serves to consolidate HIPRA's position as "the reference in prevention for animal health."
