Ukraine grain stocks reach 21.9 million tonnes

 

 

As of October 1, 2011, Ukrainian grain inventories totalled 21.9 million tonnes, up 23% as compared to the same period last year, according to the State Statistics Service on Wednesday (Oct 18).

 

The service said stocks of large- and medium-sized agriculture companies included 13.9 million tonnes of wheat, 3.5 million tonnes of barley and 1.3 million tonnes of corn.

 

Ukraine plans to harvest up to 52 million tonnes of grain in 2011 compared with 39.2 million in 2010.
