Ukraine's agricultural enterprises increase sales by 17 percent
 
 
In the first nine months of 2008, Ukraine's agricultural enterprises increased sales by 17 percent on-year, while the crop sector increased sales by 26 percent, according to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.

 

During the period, Ukrainian agrarians sold 13.7 million tonnes of grains, up 64.1 percent on-year. The amount included 7.59 tonnes of wheat, up 55.7 percent on-year.

 

However, sales of sunseed fell 61.4 percent to 582,100 tonnes.

 

Average selling prices of all agricultural products increased 31 percent on-year, including an increase of 14 percent for plant growing products.
