China's 2012 soy crushing capacity to reach 125 million tonnes
China's soy crushing capacity is expected to reach 125 million tonnes by the end of 2012, an increase of 12.5 million tonnes from this year, China National Grain & Oils Information Centre said Tuesday (Oct 18).
Soy crushing capacity this year will likely rise by 17.5 million tonnes, including some crushers who can process soy or rapeseed, the centre said, adding that a serious overcapacity will continue for a long time.
Crushers will likely process 59 million tonnes of soy this marketing year, which began October 1, up 7.2%, according to the centre.
