Cattle found with FMD in China's Ningxia

Cattle in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region have been detected with foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) announced Monday (Oct 17).

The virus was first detected in 26 cattle in the county of Haiyuan on October 8, the MOA said. Test results revealed that the cattle were carrying the O-type virus.

All infected cattle and another 682 raised with them have been killed and properly disposed of. The FMD epidemic has been contained, according to the MOA.
