China's 2011 soy output likely down 10.5%

China's soy output is forecast to reach 13.5 million tonnes for the whole year of 2011, a decline of 10.5% from 2010, China National Grain & Oils Information Centre (CNGOIC) reported Thursday (Oct 13).

The CNGOIC report said this was largely because part of the previous soy planting area had been used to grow corn crops.

Meanwhile, China's wheat output is expected to reach 116.79 million tonnes for 2011, up slightly by 1.38% from 2010, the CNGOIC said.
