Ukraine's grain imports increase in August
Ukrainian grain imports rose 1.6 times or 2,760 tonnes to 7,060 tons in August 2011 in contrast to last August.
However, grain imports shrank by 62.3% or 11,660 tonnes in August 2011 against June 2011.
In January-August 2011, grain imports increased by 46.9% or 38,150 tonnes to 119,560 tonnes for US$175.75 million as compared with January-August 2010.
The media reported in July 2011 that grain imports increased 2.3 times or 10,610 tonnes, to 18,720 tonnes for US$8.57 million compared to July 2010.
In 2010, grain imports increased by 9.2% or 8,810 tonnes and made up 104,890 tonnes for US$143.69 million as compared with 2009.
