World's 2011/12 grain production forecast increases

Global grain output will hit 2,278.86 million tonnes in the 2011/12 crop year, increasing from the last forecast of 2,267.69 million tonnes, according to the USDA on Wednesday (Oct 12).

According to Reuters, world output for 2011/12 would include 681.20 million tonnes of wheat, 1,136.28 million tonnes of coarse feed grains and 461.39 million tonnes of rice.

Oilseeds were pegged at 453.47 million tonnes.
