CPF to join BMA in selling pork to schools
Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) has joined with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to sell pork to 400 schools in the Thai capital, according to the Bangkok Post.
The collaboration aims to provide quality meat to the lunch programmes of BMA-run schools at prices 5-percent lower than market rates.
The cooperation also covers co-branding of CP and Bangkok Green Label on the same package, said Narai Chimmi, vice president of Vee Food Products Co., a CPF subsidiary.
The pork sales would start within this month, initially to 100 schools with an estimated daily volume of 5,000 kg. CPF expects to earn about THB 10 million (US$290,384) from the project.
