US company recalls frozen beef on E. coli fears
Miami, Florida-based Astro Meats & Seafoods Inc. is recalling about 4,200 pounds of frozen beef trim from Indiana and Wisconsin on fear that the products may be contaminated with E. coli.
The recall includes 60-pound bulk boxes of "BM-95 BONELESS BEEF", with an item number "00003" and pack date of "8-19-08" on the shipping label.
The products were sent to establishments for further processing.
So far, there have been no reports of illnesses related to the consumption of the product, according to the USDA.
