Brazil's meat exports up 66.7 percent on-year in September
Brazil's meat exports in September leapt 66.7 percent on-year to US$1.4 billion, due to higher prices and larger shipping volumes, according to the Agriculture Ministry.
Beef exports grew 55.9 percent, as prices increased 48 percent and volumes climbed 5.2 percent. Shipments to Russia grew 114.3 percent, jumped 451.5 percent to Iran and 403 percent to Venezuela.
Chicken exports surged 85.3 percent, with shipments to Japan increasing 263 percent, Venezuela up 214 percent and Saudi Arabia up 92 percent.
Pork exports expanded 59.4 percent, as prices soared 64.9 percent, offsetting a 3.3-percent fall in volume, the ministry said.
