The new facility near downtown Indianapolis and west of the White River serves as an anchor of the future One Health Innovation District, originally announced last year in partnership with Purdue, Elanco and the state of Indiana as a shared vision of a research park dedicated to solving pressing issues impacting animal, plant, human and environmental health.

 

At the ceremony, Chiang spoke to Purdue's role in the impactful collaboration, bringing the university's renowned research strengths to the table to spark discovery and innovation in the capital city.

 

"Purdue is committed to the One Health Innovation District, human, animal and plant health working together, and we all know they have to work together," Chiang said. "We have the best asset in the United States to win."

 

One of Purdue's strategic initiatives, One Health is focused on solving complex challenges at the intersection of human, animal and plant health and delivering real-world impact. Purdue is working to improve health outcomes and foster economic growth through four key pillars: academic programmes, research, facility infrastructure and industry partnerships.
