Russia's Krasnodar Region reports classical swine fever outbreak

A pig farm in the Kavkazsky district of Russia's Krasnodar Region has been reported with an outbreak of classical swine fever (CSF), the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight said Wednesday (Oct 5).

CSF is a highly contagious disease of pigs and wild boars.

In late September, the authorities of Russia's constituent republic of Adygeya introduced a ban on supplies of pork products and live pigs from the Krasnodar Region due to outbreaks of African swine fever in the region.
