Cabinplant develops new weigher for poultry processing

Cabinplant introduced the first screw-feeding multihead weigher to a Spanish manufacturer of seafood products where the sticky products could be conveyed to the weighing pans by means of a screw inserted in the chutes.

Cabinplant employs more than 270 persons and have subsidiaries in Germany, Spain, UK and Poland, as well as their Food Machinery Market dealing in second-hand equipment.

The company reports that Emsland Frischgeflügel doubled their capacity and now processes 1.7 million chickens per week in a state-of-the-art plant. Richard Wenneker, plant manager at Emsland Frischgeflügel GmbH, Germany said that after internal tests with the Cabinplant screw-feeding multihead weigher at their plant produced good results, they decided to install the first weigher and are currently at their second weigher.

The screw-feeding multihead weigher is patented in the US, and there are pending applications in the EU and a number of other countries around the world.
