Vietstock 2011 Expo and Forum: Hatching success in the region's fastest-growing market

Vietstock Expo and Forum, Vietnam's leading international feed, livestock, and meat processing industry show, is once again returning to Ho Chi Minh City November 9-11 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC).

Hosted by the Vietnam's department of livestock production (MARD) and organised by UBM Asia, the fifth Vietstock Expo is expected to highlight the country's fast growing livestock and meat processing industry. 6,000 visitors are slated to arrive, including farmers, integrators, feed millers and mixers, veterinarians, processors, and retailers, both from across Vietnam and from around Asia. They will meet to network, develop partnerships, and do business with over 180 exhibitors from 23 countries. Singapore, China, France, the United States, Britain, South Korea, Malaysia, and Canada are among the countries which have set up national pavilions.

Vietstock 2011 will be hosting five industry-focused conferences, covering over 15 technical presentations: These include the Vietnam Integrated Dairy production Conference, the International Aquafeed Conference, the International Poultry Production Conference, the International Pig Production Conference, and the International Feed Management Conference. Over 600 delegates and decision-makers from all over the world are expected to attend these conferences, which will be based around the theme of "Improving food safety and security in animal production". There, they will discuss key concerns for farmers and consumers such as animal health and food safety, and share the latest developments in efficient farm management and bio-security.

"I am pleased to support the initiative taken by UBM for organising this event for the fifth time," said Dr Hoang Kim Giao, director of Vietnam's department of livestock production. "Vietstock 2011 will enable industry members to be updated on the latest innovations and technology, and at the same time network and build business partnerships."

At the opening ceremony of Vietstock 2011, the country's livestock ministry will also present the Vietnam Livestock Industry Award, to recognise individuals and organisations that have contributed to the Vietnamese feed and livestock sector's development. This country of 90 million has Asia's fastest growing livestock sectors, fast rising feed production and feed crop imports and per capita pork consumption that exceeds that of the United States. All this and more make Vietnam an event that is not to be missed.
