*Commonly referred to in China as liquid methionine is methionine hydroxyl analogue, a liquid source of supplemental methionine.
Global markets
In Europe, quotes for Q4 orders were flat at EUR3.48-3.55/kg after one producer resumed operation following its maintenance halt.
Market analysis
China's methionine market was stable as pre-festive inventory stockpiling started earlier amid rumours that one producer might reduce supplies. However, price hikes were limited by the cautious buying mood.
Market forecast
Methionine market in China will be underpinned by the stocking activities before National Day holidays. In the longer term, weak crude oil prices and slow feed demand will weigh on methionine prices.
