Rajshahi University, Bangladesh partners with global non-profit to boost village chicken production

Rajshahi University (RU), based in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, has entered into a partnership with global non-profit organisation Heifer International to enhance village chicken production through collaborative efforts in education and research, The Business Post reported.

The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), part of an ongoing project titled 'Participatory action research to improve village chicken production in Bangladesh based on sustainable Newcastle Disease (ND) control', according to a report by BSS.

RU vice-chancellor professor Saleh Hassan Naquib and Heifer International's country director Nurun Nahar signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions at a ceremony held in the conference hall of the university's administrative building on Tuesday.

The four-year project will involve research, training, seminars, and workshops, with joint monitoring and evaluation efforts. Additionally, policy advocacy related to the project will be carried out as part of the collaboration.
