Belarus imposes ban on oilseed exports
The Belarus government has announced a temporary ban on the exports of rapeseed and other oilseeds until March 21, 2012, in an effort to mitigate low harvest volumes.
The temporary ban includes rapeseed, flax or colza seeds and their oils, as well as their derivative products.
The export ban has been in effect since September 21. The previous ban was only lifted two weeks ago on September 16, having been in effect since March 16 of this year.
According to operative data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food as of September 28, rapeseed production totalled 294,400 tonnes, with almost the entire crop harvested.
