China's agricultural import prices soar in Jan-Aug
Prices of agricultural products imported by China shored up in the first eight months of this year, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a report on Wednesday (Sep 28).
From January to August, the average import price of grain and grain powder rose 46.8% to US$384.70/tonne. Soy soared 31.2% to US$574.80/tonne.
Cotton price averaged US$3,041.80/tonne, up 68.7%. Vegetable oil surged 39.6% to US$1,168.10/tonne. Sugar rose 36.8% to US$709.60/tonne.
