Australia's Warrnambool to export fresh milk to China

A Victorian dairy producer Warrnambool is getting its way for exporting fresh milk to China.

Warrnambool Cheese and Butter is conducting a trial for fresh milk from around the region to be flown to China. The chairman of the company, Frank Davis, says if the trial is successful it could turn into a long-term project.

Many south-east dairy farmers sell their milk to the company.

"We'll assess that in due course and make a decision, but I think the other message, which is the clearer message is that the potential for dairy in China is enormous and if that trial doesn't work something else will work," he said.
