Pacific Ethanol constructs ethanol-manufacturing plant in US

An ethanol manufacturing plant owned by Pacific Ethanol Inc. is now in operation in the Port of Stockton industrial park located in California.

Pacific Ethanol, based in Sacramento, has two ethanol plants in Madera and Stockton. It also operates plants in Boardman, Ore., and Burley, Idaho. The company also owns a 42 percent interest in Front Range Energy LLC, which owns an ethanol plant in Windsor, Colo.

The 60 million gallon per year Stockton facility is located at the Port of Stockton, with access to water, rail and road transportation. It will process 21 million bushels of corn per year, producing both ethanol and 500,000 tonnes of wet DDGS annually.

The wet DDGS can be sold as food for the region's one million dairy cows.
