Russia may increase duties for over-quota imports of pork and poultry
 
 

Over-quota imports rates for pork and poultry in Russia may be increased to 65-80 percent, according to a senior industry figure.

 
At present the over-quota rates for pork and poultry is 50-60 percent.
 
Aleksey Likhachev, the Head of Data Collection, Analysis and Foreign Economic Policy Regulation Service of Ministry of Agriculture of Russia told reporters.
 
He said the increase was aimed at ''price equalization'' in the Russian food market. He also said that, Russia may adjust quota for meat and poultry imports by country or importers. 
 
Russia is also considering reducing the quota from 1.2 million tonnes to 1 million tonnes.
