New Nor-Feed plant in France to strengthen botanical supply to local and overseas markets
Nor-Feed's new plant in Chemillé, Anjou region, France, will strengthen its position for supplying botanical to domestic and international markets, the company recently announced.
The facility's inauguration on September 7 marks a new chapter in the Nor-Feed history. The 2,500 square plant is fully automated and will quadruple Nor-Feed's annual production, which will be able to supply approximately 50 million tonnes of feed.
Following the ceremony, visitors had the chance to visit the facilities. One new feature at the facilities is a patented extraction technology that exploits new botanical sources and makes active compounds bio-available without using solvent-dependent technologies to complete the extraction.
The facility also runs on renewable energy, other than electricity. The products have been eco-designed, and will use co-products from the agricultural industry.
Important aspects of activity at the facilities are research and the product registrations.
Pierre Chicoteau, chief executive officer of Nor-Feed, said: "In our niche market, what gives value to a product are all the layers of information, identity, security, applications, which like layers of onions, year after year enrich our products and keep them relevant."
