Ukraine ranks third on global corn export

In 2011-12 marketing year, Ukraine is seen to be third on world corn export and sixth on wheat export, said Dragon Capital senior analyst Tamara Levchenko.

She said they expect 50 million tonnes of grain without taking into consideration oil-bearing cultures. About 26 million tonnes will be consumed inside the country while the remaining 24 million tonnes can be exported. Out of these, main export products are wheat and grain crops.

She also noted that the recent data of the USDA states that by recalculation of balances all over the world, Ukraine will most likely rank third on grain exports. "Mainly, on corn export, with the share of 12% of the world export. Russia is on the fifth position and its share is about 12%," the expert summed up.
