Romania aims to capture international meat markets

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Valeriu Tabara said that Romania's main objective is to conquer the international markets for meat and meat products.

Tabara said that the animal breeding and meat production sectors are the most important sectors of Romania's agriculture, because animal farming provides primary processing. They need to have strong brands of products related to regions and traditional production if they are to conquer the external markets for meat and meat products. Only this way can they talk about reasonable prices for producers and consumers.

The latest developments in the local and international meat markets will be analysed on Wednesday at the first international trade show of the South-Eastern EU meat industry, Carnexpo, mounted at Romaero Baneasa in Bucharest, September 21-24.

There are more than 80 meat and meat products producers, along with raw material suppliers, equipment providers and the main meat industry players exhibiting over 6,000 square metres.
