Azerbaijan to halt Iranian poultry import
Azerbaijani businessmen will be not be allowed to import poultry and poultry products from Iran if Iran is affected by bird flu, spokesman for the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture said.
He said that Azerbaijan has not received an official document on revealing "bird flu" in the Iranian province of Mazandaran.
"We cannot say anything to businessmen, because we do not have any official document," representative of the State Veterinary Service said. "But, border and customs bodies are instructed not to import poultry and poultry products from Iran, Georgia and Turkey and Russia to Azerbaijan."
He said that Azerbaijan does not import poultry meat from Iran now.
