Brazilian pig, broiler production costs continue to fall
Due to low prices of animal feeds, production costs for Brazilian pigs and broilers fell in August, the second month in a row, Brazil's agricultural research institute Embrapa said.
It said the production cost index for pigs fell by 0.46%, while that for broilers fell by 2.65%.
Earlier in June, the two indices reached record highs after Brazil suffered from a low harvest of corn.
Feed accounts for 60%-70% of the total cost of both livestock and poultry productions.
