Animal breeder IMV Technologies to buy Herritech SAS

Animal breeder IMV Technologies is seeking to acquire Herritech SAS even as both companies have announced that negotiations were ongoing toward this end.

Herritech has invented and developed SAI21, the first innovative tool for bovine artificial insemination whose concept has received several awards.

Arnaud Biscay, founder of Herritech said: ''By integrating the IMV Technologies group, world leader in reproductive biotechnologies, we are convinced that the group, very present in all markets and possessing a modern and efficient industrial platform, will accompany effectively the industrialisation and commercialisation of SAI21".

Olivier Couture, IMV marketing director, stressed: ''This new insemination technology (SAI21) significantly improves the comfort and the precision of the insemination act. It perfectly completes the services and products offered by our group. ''

Herritech is a company created by professionals with different backgrounds to design, industrialise and market innovative products in the field of animal husbandry.

Earlier this year, IMV Technologies-a leader in reproduction technologies-bought Nelson Medical, a leading Chinese manufacturer of artificial insemination products for livestock and companion animals.

Late last year, it also acquired aquaculture genetics company Genotop.
