According to vice general manager of Jiliang Group, Feng Jilong, China's corn output is predicted to increase over 8 million tonnes in 2008.

Corn output will grow by great margin with output reaching 160 million tons this year due to good climate, 8.18 million tonnes more than that in the same 2007 period.

Yields in northeast China grew sharply year- on-year especially in Jilin Province; yield is expected to grow over 10 percent.

The acreage sown to corn in Heilongjiang Province decreased, but due to the shapr growth in yields, the total output in the province will be kept stable.
