In two days, on Sept. 22, the 8th International Seaweed Conference will start in Ostend, Belgium. It will bring together participants from the whole seaweed chain to discuss the real deal about the industry. Seagriculture experts and professionals from all over the world will gather together in six plenary sessions during the five-day conference.

Taiwan International Fisheries & Seafood Show 2019

The Taiwan International Fisheries & Seafood Show 2019 will take place in Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre and is co-organised by My Exhibition Co. Ltd. and Taiwan External Trade Development Council. TIFSS 2019 is supported and endorsed by the central and local government bodies in Taiwan, targetting 220 exhibitors with six international pavilions.

12th Global Summit on Aquaculture & Fisheries

Aquaculture Europe 2019

Aquaculture Europe 2019 will be held at ESTREL Congress Centre in Berlin, Germany.
Recognising the importance of innovation, Aquaculture Europe will feature Innovation Forum, an effort to promote and support start-ups and emerging business models in the aquaculture sector. By matching ideas to potential investors and those that can push the development of these companies, the forum hopes to help facilitate growth in the sector with better technology and new products.

Women in Aquaculture Seminar

A seminar looking at ways to ensure greater gender diversity at all levels of the aquaculture sector will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Aquaculture Europe 2019 in Berlin.
Jointly organised by the European Aquaculture Society (EAS) and The Fish Site, the Women in Aquaculture seminar will offer first-hand insights into how women can overcome perceived gender-related obstacles and build thriving careers right across the aquaculture sector.
"Many promising young researchers and many of the top aquaculture executives from Europe and beyond will be in Berlin for the annual EAS conference and this special session aims to help companies engage with proactive strategies for building diverse workplaces," said Alistair Lane, executive director of EAS.

Infofish World Shrimp Conference and Exposition

With the theme "Modelling for Sustainability," this international conference on shrimp, held at the JW Marriott hotel in Bangkok, will consider at length the present and future of the industry, focusing on moving toward sustainability. A large part of the sessions will be devoted to production and trade at the domestic and international levels, as well as the latest developments in the shrimp industry. Some 250 delegates, both international and local, representing various segments of the seafood industry, are expected to participate.
Driven by environmental and social factors, as well as the recurrent disease outbreaks in shrimp farming, the focus now is toward sustainability. With the various challenges faced by the shrimp industry, there is a need to properly identify and promote systems that will lead to sustainable development.

47th US-Japan Natural Resources Panel on Aquaculture

The 47th US-Japan Natural Resources Scientific Symposium on “Marine Aquaculture in a Changing Environment” will be held Nov. 12-15 in Okinawa.
The 47th UJNR Aquaculture Symposium is the last year of the current three-year theme of "Marine Aquaculture in a Changing Environment."
The UJNR Aquaculture Panel is a cooperative research exchange between the US and Japan, jointly addressing environmental and technical issues that affect the aquaculture industries of both nations.

This is the first time this event, called LACQUA for short, will be held in Central America, a region rich in natural resources and of whose several countries are currently in a process of political and social changes, aimed at improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.
