Philippines To Retender Bid For 150,000 Tons Corn

The Philippines will reopen a tender to buy 150,000 tons of corn as soon as possible, Agriculture Secretary Luis Lorenzo said on Wednesday.

The tender was originally held on September 10, but no deal was struck with the National National Food Authority due to high prices.

The lowest offer at that time was $120.95 per ton C&F. The imported corn was to fill a shortfall due to severe crop damage from a typhoon in July.
