Vietnam's Livestock Industry Awards to recognise achievements in domestic sector
Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will present the prestigious Livestock Industry Awards to celebrate excellence in all aspects of the country's livestock industry, from creating new breeds to cutting-edge biosecurity solutions.
This year, the awards will highlight progress and innovation in green and sustainable development.
Speaking at a press briefing on September 11, Phạm Kim Đăng, deputy director of the ministry's Department of Livestock Production, said the awards honour businesses and organisations that have significantly contributed to the development of the livestock industry.
In 2023, the agriculture sector experienced its highest growth (3.83%) since 2019, he said. Livestock production grew by 6.38% from 2022, he added.
The awards will be presented for eight livestock categories, specifically, waste management technology, contribution to the ‘from-farm-to-fork' chain, circular economy development, biosecurity, waste management, equipment development, local compound feed production, and breeder farm management.
The evaluation of winners looks into factors like compliance with the law, scale of operation, technical efficiency, social responsibility, environment friendliness, sustainable development, and value chain linkages.
The awards will be presented to about 30 businesses at a ceremony on October 9. This ceremony will be held at the Vietstock Expo & Forum which is taking place in Ho Chi Minh City on October 9-11.
