Lithuania's natural milk purchase price shows increase

Lithuania Agriculture Ministry said that the country's natural milk purchase price reached US$357.70 per tonne, up by 14.7% as compared to last year, and up by 1% from July.

Compared to last year the total volume of natural milk purchased from farmers last month rose by 1.2% to 144,960 tonnes.  In Jan-Aug, natural milk purchase volumes grew by 2.7% on-year to 862,300 tonnes.

In August, average milk purchase prices ranged from US$368.84 paid by Pieno Zvaigzdes to US$330.69 paid by Vilkyskiu Pienine.
