Vietnamese province earns US$133 million from shrimp

The Nong nghiep Vietnam newspaper reported that farmers in Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh earned US$133 million from selling 17,900 tonnes of shrimp.

The newspaper reported that shrimp price ranges from US$3.84 to US$13.20 per kg.

There are over 26,900 shrimp raisers with a combined raising area of 25,600 hectares.

Tra Vinh province expects to harvest 20,000 tonnes-21,000 tonnes of shrimp this year compared to 20,000 tonnes in 2010.
