France's soft wheat exports to non-EU markets rise 58% for July 2015

Soft wheat exports from France - that were bound for non-EU destinations - had risen by 58% year-on-year in July 2015, with a volume of 683,513 tonnes.

The volume, according to customs data, also recorded the biggest July amount since 2011. Exports in the month was spearheaded by deliveries to Algeria with 428,670 tonnes shipped. That volume also coincided to be a four-year high as well as a strong rebound from 47,250 tonnes in July 2014.

Fast-paced harvesting during a dry and hot weather had bolstered wheat exports, following disruptions from heavy rain last year. However, a slowdown occurred in August as intense competition from other wheat exporting markers arose.
