India's August soymeal exports up nearly five-fold from year-ago
   

 

India's August soymeal exports rose more than five-fold to 212,310 tonnes from 46,720 tonnes a year ago, the Soy Processors Association of India (SOPA) said in a statement.

 

During the month, the exports to Vietnam rose five-fold to 79,874 tonnes, while exports to Japan reached 51,168 tonnes. Japan did not import any soymeal from India in August last year, SOPA said.

 

Exports from April to August tripled to 1.595 million tonnes compared with 540,144 tonnes last year, the report said.

 

Year to date, exports grew 46 percent to 4.8 million tonnes, the association said.
