Philippines lifts ban on Brazilian poultry imports
The Philippines' Agriculture Department said it has lifted its ban on Brazilian poultry imports, following the Brazil government's presentation on its measures to prevent COVID-19, Bloomberg reported.
However, the Philippines will require all imported Brazilian poultry products to be labeled confirming the products have been handled in facilities with strict hygiene and sanitation measures. Unlabeled shipments will be confiscated, according to the agriculture department memorandum.
The Philippines' imposed a ban on Brazilian poultry meat in August after a sample of frozen chicken wings from Brazil were detected to have COVID-19 coronavirus traces in Shenzhen, China.
